Word spread fast down the Atlantic City boardwalk. First one, then a sea of girls were screaming: “The Jonas Brothers! Oh my God! Oh my God!” Soon, the trio was mobbed. “Never gets old,” says Joe Jonas, smiling. “It’s crazy when police have to hold back girls, but awesome.”
The hottest brother act since Hanson, the L.A.-based Jonases (Kevin, 20, Joe, 18, and Nick, 15) are supporting their self-titled platinum CD with a tour headlined by Miley Cyrus. The teen star is a close pal, who often raids the Jonases’ wardrobe. “We can’t believe the year we’ve had,” says Kevin.
But it isn’t all screaming fans and pop princesses. (Though Joe was linked to singer JoJo after they were seen walking arm-in-arm, he says they’re “friends.”) Sleeping in the bus’s lower bunks are mom Denise, dad Kevin and brother Frankie, 7. Curfew is flexible, but the band tests it with 2 a.m. room service burgers and Wii tournaments.
They’ll need their rest: Up next is a tour of their own and a Disney Channel series. Thus far, energy doesn’t seem to be an issue. “We wake up every morning excited,” says Kevin, “because we get to do what we love.”
