Ted Allen's Crostini with Thyme-Roasted Tomatoes
Makes 8 Crostini
Preheat oven to 275°. Halve 4 plum tomatoes lengthwise and drizzle with 2 tbsp. olive oil. Sprinkle with 1 tsp. dried thyme and ½ tsp. each salt and pepper. Roast until tomatoes are soft and slightly shrunken, 1½ to 2 hours. Remove and raise oven temperature to 400°. Drizzle 8½-in.-thick baguette slices with olive oil and bake until golden brown, 10 minutes. Rub toasts with a halved garlic clove and top each with a roasted tomato.
