CHAIN OF EVENTS: Soon after spotting a silver-plated Rina Moon lucite necklace in a newspaper ad, Drew Barrymore set her sights on getting one for herself. The star had her assistant place an order for the piece from Fragments in New York City, and the dramatic bauble was delivered to Barrymore’s hotel the next day. Courteney’s Cause

Can fashion make a difference? Stars like Courteney Cox Arquette Arquette and Sienna Miller hope so: They are promoting the OmniPeace by Signorelli shirt line because 50 percent of its $65 pricetag goes to Millennium Promise, an organization dedicated to ending extreme poverty in Africa by 2025. Poverty “is something tangible,” Cox Arquette told PEOPLE at the June 21 launch party she hosted for the line at Kitson Men in L.A. “Everyone can do [something] to fix this problem because it can be fixed.”
