No room for argument here—today’s snug, cropped jackets are sassy little cover-ups that will be fashionable through fall
WHAT TO LOOK FOR
Boxy cuts are a no-no. Find fitted, waist-tapered cuts with long or three-quarter sleeves.
HOW TO WEAR IT
Almost any top goes, except one with long sleeves that show past the jacket cuffs. Otherwise let it hang out like Gisele’s blouse, which drifts below her jacket hem, or tee it up like Brandy.
Cropped jackets in pastels appeared on runways for spring 2004. Expect to see more of them through late summer and into fall in toasty tweeds, vintage-inspired styles and adorned with brooches.
Behind the Seams
Brittany Murphy may have more admirers filling her Little Black Book after arriving at the film’s New York City premiere in this stunning silk Valentino gown.
SCENT OF A WINNER:
Keira Knightley fought among warriors in the film King Arthur and now joins the fairer sex in clamoring for Coquette Tropique, the much buzzed-about follow-up perfume to last year’s hit Monyette Paris (by the L.A.-based perfumery of the same name). Coquette-ites, including Mischa Barton and Claire Danes, know the tiny roll-on bottle is easy to tote but not so easy to find. It’s selling out quickly….

Lance Armstrong is winning hearts—and wrists. His yellow Live Strong bands (you may have seen them just about anywhere) benefit the Lance Armstrong Foundation (www.laf.org)—which provides programs for people living with cancer—and they’re selling faster than his ride on the Plateau de Beille. On the day he won his sixth Tour de France, about 25,000 wristbands were sold on the Champs Elysées. Close to 6 million have been purchased so far. Matt Damon, Ben Stiller, John Kerry and Serena Williams wear ’em too….

MAD ABOUT THE GIRL
Jennifer Lopez may be limiting her exposure, but her new lingerie line, JLO Lingerie by Jennifer Lopez, gives tons—and so does its new ad campaign. And for it, La Lopez absolutely had to have model Ana Beatriz Barros because “I wanted someone young, sexy and urban with a universal appeal,” she says. “Ana fit that mold perfectly!” Prices range from $9.50 to $40 for underwear, bras and robes, and it’s all available in department stores and at http://www.shopjlo.com….
FROM THE AISLE FILE:
The Bachelor‘s Bob Guiney doesn’t wear a wedding ring. Instead, he wears a platinum bracelet given to him by wife Rebecca Budig. “She didn’t think of me wearing a ring,” says Guiney. “She came up with the concept all the way down to the platinum screws that hold it together—I love it!”
Getting people to vote hasn’t been this much fun to watch since the first Survivor, but thanks to celebs and some of their favorite designers, remembering to cast a ballot is trendier than ever. While their methods may be cheeky—Halle Berry has a Rock the Vote tee, Courteney Cox Arquette owns Vote underwear—the message is serious. P. Diddy has created Citizen Change, a group that hopes to make voting “sexy, hot and cool” to young people, and he’s passing out Vote or Die! shirts to his hippest pals, Jay-Z and Ashlee Simpson included. If you forgo the fashions, then simply heed their curtain call: Get in that booth and vote!
