Orange Crush

Here’s a juicy hue that’s ripe for the picking. The latest sunburst of red-carpet color is orange, a perfect summer selection—sweet, but tart enough to get you noticed.

Tan-gerine Dreams

Since it’s so warm, orange works well if you’ve got a tan—a fake one will do nicely—or have naturally dark skin.

Forbidden Fruit

It’s fine to add a jolt of color (like Paulina Rubio’s lavender shoes) or accent with white, but draw the line there. Stripes of many shades will leave you looking too tutti-frutti.

Behind the Seams

Sarah Jessica Parker is the New York City Ballet’s 2004 spring-gala host with the utmost style, looking every bit the prima fashionista in an Oscar de la Renta dress and Fred Leighton diamonds. Brava!

CUFF ‘EM: Jessica Simpson has shared with hubby Nick Lachey the true meaning of life: shopping. Nah, it’s that you only live once (Y.O.L.O.), which is why she bought him (and herself) cuffs that say so. Surely shopping is the second meaning of life….

Simpson’s Y.O.L.O. pink lizard and ruby bracelet, $425;

FUND-RAISING, HOLLYWOOD STYLE: Tom Hanks, Courteney Cox Arquette and Kelly Osbourne are among the celebs who have made their creative marks on once-plain white shirts donated by Tommy Hilfiger. Their designs will be auctioned to raise money for the 11th Annual Race to Erase Multiple Sclerosis. Hilfiger is cochair with Nancy Davis. Part fashion show, part rock concert and part auction, it’s not exactly your local bake sale….

Kelly Osbourne’s donated shirt design will benefit the 11th Annual Race to Erase MS.

…IN OTHER CHARITY SHIRT NEWS: Boston boys Matt Damon and Ben Affleck have literally given the shirts off their backs for a cause close to home—the Society of Arts and Crafts’ YES! Fund, which supports craft programs for at-risk youth in New England. The shirts two rag rugs (Sopranos cast members provided tees too) that will be auctioned off from May 19 to 23. Oh, and the rugs also feature their autographs, which makes them highly suitable for framing….

Bids for Matt and Ben’s rag rug start at $200.

Sarah Michelle Gellar spends a whopping $500 on one of the world’s most expensive moisturizers: Japan’s Kanebo La Crème made with silk, said to keep skin moist. Her face does look silky smooth, no?

Accessory of the Week

The latest celebrity baggage check proves that white carryalls are white-hot. From Jada Pinkett Smith’s oversize tote to Rebecca Romijn-Stamos’s smaller hobo, these designer bags are playthings of the rich and famous. Sofia Coppola’s $6,000 Hermes Birkin bag can’t be easy to replace—or clean. Scotchgard, anyone?

New shoes by Tracey Ross include this leather slingback, $570 (left), and python heel, $578; Forty Five Ten, 214-559-4510.

Hippest New Heels

Los Angeles style guru and eponymous fashion boutique owner Tracey Ross knows what celebs want to wear even before they do. So when she decided to design footwear, she was a shoe-in. Ross just debuted three sexy stiletto styles that have pals like Cameron Diaz, Julianne Moore and Eve wanting to walk a mile in her heels.

Lisa Rinna and Mini Anden can boast coast-to-coast Diane von Furstenberg floral halter tops on the same day. Both wore jeans, but Anden went chic with cuffs, while Rinna opted for a traditional bootleg. Either way, it’s a pretty déjà view.
