The singer loves to hit the road with her pups, who keep her company while she tours the country
“They are all my babies,” says the 30-year-old singer of her six dogs. “I can’t pick a favorite!” Lambert, who has rescued strays since she was a little girl, was inspired to found MuttNation, an organization dedicated to raising funds to help dogs and shelters across America and beyond, after she adopted her first shelter pup, Delilah, eight years ago. “I have a little plaque in my house that says, ‘There is always room for one more dog,'” she shares. So is living with six dogs ever overwhelming? “Sometimes,” she admits, “but it’s also rewarding. They just love you unconditionally and know that you saved them and gave them a better life.”

“I wake up every morning with him on my face,” says the Vampire Diaries star, 35, of his beloved cat, which he rescued in Hawaii in 2004. “He’s Buddha; he reminds me to be chill.” The actor created his IS Foundation to return the favor. “People say, ‘Oh, you’re such a cat guy,’ ” he adds. “But it doesn’t matter whether you slither, slide, swim or fly, I love them all.”

“I used to look at people in dog parks and think, ‘What is wrong with them?’ ” says the Think Like a Man Too actress. Now she knows. Hall’s English bulldog Zeus is her favorite leading man. “I don’t even call him Zeus, I call him Handsome. And he answers to that, and I’m like, ‘This is a problem,’ ” she says, laughing. “They don’t have tails, so every time he sees me, he wiggles his entire body.” He also inspired Hall, 43, to create a line of green-friendly poop- pickup bags, which will be available next year. “I said to my mom, ‘Can you believe God made him so cute?’ And she said, ‘He’s cute from the neck back.’ Whatever. He’s family!”

But being a movie and TV legend for 75 years hasn’t made the superstar any less caring. As ambassador for Best Friends Animal Society and Save the Children, Lassie, who is 5 and a direct descendant of the original dog (generations of collies have played the role), visits places such as tornado-ravaged Moore, Okla., to help families prepare for disasters. “The kids know her,” says STC vice president Kathy Spangler. “Lassie brings them comfort and makes them feel safe.”
