The Duke of Cambridge pays a royal visit to Japan and China

Prince William the samurai? The Duke of Cambridge wears traditional cultural garb while visiting Japan’s iconic NHK Public Broadcasting Studios in Tokyo on Feb. 28, although he chose to forgo the accompanying wig. “If I put one of these on, my brother would never let me forget it,” he joked.

William ditches his bespoke suit for a yukata, or casual Japanese kimono, before having dinner with Abe at a Japanese inn in the city of Koriyama, in Fukushima, Japan, Feb. 28. After chatting with dinner guests about the Rugby World Cup – which will be held in England this year and in Japan in 2019 – the prince enjoyed a hot springs bath.

From one palace to another! The prince visits the former imperial palace at the Forbidden City in Beijing on March 2.
