On April 7, 26 of country music’s biggest names joined forces for a taping of ACM Presents: An All-Star Salute to the Troops (airing May 20 on CBS at 9 p.m. ET/PT). Before the cameras rolled, they assembled backstage and talked about their personal connections to the military. “My sister is a veteran; so is my uncle and one of my best friends growing up,” says Tim McGraw. “I am in awe of the people who have served our country. I get to do what I do because of them.”
