A NIGHT TO REMEMBER
Drama and fun were the beat at MTV’s awards extravaganza—including a one-woman fashion show, rocking tributes, a shocking onstage outburst and more …
Of the Kanye West incident, Swift told PEOPLE, “I was really excited because I’d just won the award, and then I was really excited because Kanye West was onstage, and then I wasn’t excited anymore after that.”

Taylor Swift sparkled in KAUFMANFRANCO on the red carpet and later became the center of attention when her acceptance speech for best female video was cut short by Kanye West, who took her microphone and declared that fellow nominee Beyoncé had made “one of the greatest videos of all time.” Despite the shock, Swift told PEOPLE, “I had a great night tonight. I’ve been sent so many text messages. It’s definitely been interesting.”
Jennifer Lopez pulls off her stated fashion aim for the night—”sexy, edgy, feminine”—in Louis Vuitton and lacy Christian Louboutin ankle boots.
The Hills’ Kristin Cavallari and Katy Perry (in a mini by the Blonds) share the glare and similarly sparkly dresses.
