ALL THE NEWS & BUZZ FROM HOLLYWOOD
JENNIFER LAWRENCE INSIDE HER NEXT MOVES
Jennifer Lawrence is having one busy spring. There’s being Bradley Cooper’s “work wife” (they’re filming their fourth movie together!), prepping to shoot X-Men: Apocalypse, making a deal to play war photographer Lynsey Addario for director Steven Spielberg … and keeping everyone guessing about her love life. She and rocker Chris Martin haven’t been spotted together since Jan. 31, but a Lawrence source tells PEOPLE the pair “communicate daily.” “They see each other when they can, yet each continues to do their own thing,” says a Martin source. “Both have full plates, and they like it that way.”
Martin, 38, has mostly stayed in L.A. with Apple, 10, and Moses, 8, his children with ex Gwyneth Paltrow. (The trio have visited Kate Hudson and her sons for playdates; Hudson and Martin are longtime pals.) Lawrence, 24, has been braving the cold in Boston to film Joy, a biopic about Home Shopping Network whiz Joy Mangano. “She doesn’t like the weather and hasn’t had much time to get out and enjoy herself, but it’s been nice to get out of the glare of Hollywood,” says the insider.
The Oscar winner – who spends her days off walking her dog Pippi and taking spinning classes – enjoyed a rare night out March 21, reuniting with Cooper for the Cinema Society premiere of their drama Serena in N.Y.C. “I think she’s the best there is. And I just learn from her,” says Cooper, 40. Make that the newly single Cooper: PEOPLE confirms he and model-actress Suki Waterhouse, 23, ended their two-year relationship before the Oscars. But Cooper and Lawrence scoffed at rumors of an off-screen romance. A source close to her says they’re “great friends” – and nothing more.
How She Stays Sane
Being President isn’t easy – even if it’s just on TV. “Show business is hard,” Veep‘s Julia Louis-Dreyfus, 54, says in the new issue of ENTERTAINMENT WEEKLY (on stands now). “It can suck your soul.” So the actress leans on husband Brad Hall, 57, and sons Henry, 22, and Charles, 17. “Having something that trumps show business – crushes it– [keeps] everything in perspective for me.”
WORD ASSOCIATION WITH ANDY COHEN
THE BRAVO HOST AND REAL HOUSEWIVES PRODUCER – WHO JUST ANNOUNCED HIS FORTHCOMING SIRIUSXM RADIO CHANNEL RADIO ANDY – FREE-ASSOCIATES:
Gift that keeps on giving.
They still keep me entertained and laughing and frustrated and excited. I think it’s the modern-day soap opera.
New York City
I love it. I didn’t move here to sleep, and so I really haven’t gotten a good night’s sleep in 25 years. It’s still exciting and never gets old. My main relationship for the last 25 years has been with New York City.
Where am I going to meet an architect who lives in Brooklyn besides Tinder at this point? I have no shame in my game: I’m there, I’m swiping.
I mean, I kind of know her, and I’m still starstruck by her. I’m working on getting her on Watch What Happens Live.
I’m so excited [for her to return in season 7]. Being a Housewife seems like it’s breathing to her. She’s so entertaining and vulnerable and no-bulls—.
‘HE IS REALLY STRUGGLING’
The Kardashians live, breathe – and profit from – drama. But when Rob Kardashian compared his sister Kim to Gone Girl‘s fictional psychopath Amy Dunne (played by Rosamund Pike, right) on Instagram March 22, it revealed a deepening rift between siblings – and brought to light major concerns about his well-being. “The attitude has always been that when Rob gets his act together, starts working out and loses weight, everything will be good and he will be happy,” says a production source on the family’s E! reality show Keeping Up with the Kardashians. “But behind the weight gain is this very unhealthy mental state that he keeps struggling with.”
It’s a struggle that began as Rob, 28, a would-be entrepreneur who once launched a sock line, watched his sisters Kim, 34, Kourtney, 35, Khloé, 30, Kendall, 19, and Kylie, 17, develop thriving businesses under the direction of their mother/manager, Kris Jenner. Last May, amidst scrutiny of his weight gain, he abruptly changed plans to attend Kim’s wedding; in June, he faced allegations of drug use when pictures surfaced showing him surrounded by paraphernalia associated with the cough syrup and soda blend known as “sizzurp.” In the months since, he has studiously avoided the spotlight.
“It’s really hard for him that his sisters are so public and he looks like the shut-in,” adds a second source. “So he has retreated more. He’s sad, he’s bitter, he’s single. He is very depressed and has been.” (A rep for Rob did not respond to a request for comment.) With Rob not currently filming KUWTK – “Kris doesn’t want him on the show when he is emotionally unstable,” says the production source – family members have encouraged the star to get help, even staging multiple interventions to no avail. “He is very against therapy and any kind of rehab,” says the production source. “But his family will continue to push for him to get help until he does.”

PRINCE ALBERT SLAMS TALK OF A SPLIT
Attention, naysayers: Prince Albert and Princess Charlene’s marriage is going strong. Three months after welcoming twins Jacques and Gabriella, the royal couple have been facing rumors of a split because Charlene, 37, has been spending time in the South of France. “It’s ridiculous,” Albert, 57, tells PEOPLE. He says they have just temporarily moved away from their Monaco palace (inset) while it undergoes a major renovation, including the nursery. “It’s not totally calm and quiet the way you would like … when there are very young children around,” says the Prince. While they wait for the construction dust to settle, Albert (who has two children from previous relationships) says they’re soaking up every moment of baby bliss: “I give them their midnight bottles, I change and bathe them … it’s been an incredible experience.”
EXCLUSIVE COVER REVEAL!
Harper Lee’s New Book
Questions still surround the hotly anticipated follow-up to Harper Lee’s To Kill a Mockingbird. Was the author, 88, manipulated into publishing? (Alabama authorities have closed their probe into any financial fraud.) One thing that’s no longer a mystery: the new book’s cover, a retro homage to Lee’s 1960 classic. Publisher HarperCollins also gave some clues about what’s in store for Mockingbird’s Scout, Jem and Atticus: “Go Set a Watchman begins with Scout’s train ride home,” says HC president Michael Morrison. “More profoundly, it is about the journey [these characters] have taken in the subsequent 20 years of their lives.” The book is out July 14.
What My Cat Knows About Me
The comedian, 53 – who stars as an oddball retirement-home worker in Netflix’s Derek Special (out April 3) – shares secrets only his cat Ollie knows:
My cat knows I’m a warm person. Well, she doesn’t know that I’m a person, to be honest. But she knows I’m warm. Particularly around the lap area. She also knows she can sit there undisturbed for as long as she likes. I’m not allowed to move until she decides to get off. She also knows when I’m going to sneeze. She hates it. So even before it happens, she senses the signs and bolts away from me. She knows a little “meow” can get her brushed. She also knows how to brush herself when I stop. But my favorite thing she knows is that I regularly go to the kitchen for a beer and have to walk past the stairs. She runs up and gets to the stair that’s head height for a little fight with me through the banister. The saddest thing she knows is a suitcase means I’m leaving her for a few days. She sits in it and follows me everywhere as if to say, “I’m coming with you.”
CATCHING UP WITH JORDANA BREWSTER
THE FURIOUS 7 STAR OPENS UP ABOUT HER HAPPILY HECTIC LIFE WITH ‘ON-THE-GO’ SON JULIAN
Since welcoming her son Julian, actress Jordana Brewster hasn’t had much downtime – but she tells People that she wouldn’t have it any other way. “What’s so wonderful about motherhood is that you’re constantly busy,” says the Furious 7 star, 34, whose son was born in September 2013 via a gestational surrogate. The hands-on mom—who tries to squeeze in weekend workouts and weekly date nights with her husband, producer Andrew Form, 46 – begins her day at 6 a.m., when 18-month-old Julian wakes up for a packed schedule of music classes, museum trips and swim lessons. “He loves the water and, as a Brazilian, I really needed him to like the beach,” says Brewster, who adds that he’s now walking and is always “on-the-go.” Julian – who’s “obsessed with wheels” – will even “hear the beep of a garbage truck and run outside,” she says. “It’s the simplest things that keep him entertained.”
