Although they were used to an entirely different type of late nights and bottle service, Kim Kardashian, 32, and Kanye West, 36, are happily adjusting to their new roles as mom and dad to baby daughter North, born June 15. “Having a newborn can be very intense, but Kim never complains,” says a source. West has also made a smooth transition into parenthood. “He’s so relaxed and comfortable with the baby. She makes him smile,” the source adds, revealing that the rapper has been changing diapers and is learning how to swaddle.

Before Kardashian and her daughter were finally discharged from Cedars-Sinai Medical Center in L.A. on June 21 after a weeklong stay, the reality star breast-fed around the clock to make sure her baby, who was born three weeks early, gained weight. “It’s not easy for anyone to stay that long in the hospital, and Kim seemed very happy to be going home,” says the source. The new family is now happily ensconced at grandma Kris Jenner’s L.A. pad while their new $11 million Bel Air mansion is being renovated, and North, says the source, is “gaining weight and doing well.”

Next, says a Kardashian pal, the new mom is looking forward to regaining her pre-baby figure. “Kim is ready to get her body back!” says the pal. “She was very health-conscious throughout her pregnancy, so I’m sure it won’t be hard.” Could she be shedding for a wedding too? There are no immediate plans, says the pal, but marriage certainly seems to be in the cards for the couple, who are putting work aside temporarily to focus on family. “I can’t imagine they won’t get married,” says the pal. “That’s in their future!”
