BACHELORETTE‘S EMILY MAYNARD
‘I AM NOT A CHEATER!’
Just one month after getting engaged on The Bachelorette‘s July 22 season finale, Emily Maynard and Utah entrepreneur Jef Holm are reaffirming their love in the face of explosive-and, they say, untrue-cheating allegations. The reports, which surfaced two days after the couple returned from a mid-August vacation with Holm’s family in Pawleys Island, S.C., alleged that Holm, 28, flew into a rage after discovering the North Carolina single mom, 26, had been sending suggestive texts to another man. Speaking exclusively to PEOPLE, Maynard says the accusations are “100 percent not true,” asserting that sexting with another man is something “I wouldn’t do. I love Jef. I am not a cheater.” Further complicating matters was the revelation that Holm’s brother Mike, 30, had corroborated the tabloid report. “I’m shocked. I’m hurt someone in my family would do that,” Holm says. “My parents raised us to always tell the truth and do honest things.” Adds Maynard: “It makes me angry, hurts my feelings and breaks my heart.” (Mike Holm declined to comment.) Meanwhile, Holm-who spent last week trading public displays of affection with Maynard, accompanying Maynard’s daughter Ricki, 7, to her first day of first grade and finally renting a Charlotte apartment near his fiancee-vows that he and Maynard will not let the fallout affect him or his family. “As hurt as I am,” he says of brother Mike, “I love [him] and I love my family. We’re going to deal with this privately.”
DOES DEBBIE ROWE SEE THE JACKSON KIDS?
When TJ Jackson, 34, was named permanent co-guardian of Michael Jackson’s kids on Aug. 22, the late singer’s ex-wife (and mother of Prince, 15, and Paris, 14) Debbie Rowe was given a heads-up by the court. A source close to the family says Rowe, 53, who was granted visitation rights after Jackson’s death in 2009, approves of the arrangement, but she doesn’t have much to do with either her biological children or Blanket, 10. “She sees them about once a year,” says the source. The kids “don’t pay much attention to her,” adds the source. “They have settled in their minds [she doesn’t] want to be their mother.”
STARS GONE BLONDE
MOVE OVER, MILEY! HERE ARE MORE SUMMER MAKEOVERS TO DYE FOR
“Bye bye brown hair,” tweeted the actress, 31, who lightened her look for the Sin City sequel.
Ten days after tweeting that “girls are diggin” his new hue, the rocker, 53, said he was ditching it.
The actress, 31, made a bold move for a new role, tweeting, “Do blondes really have more fun?”
While on hiatus from Mad Men, the actress, 30, debuted a short and sunny look.
LINDSAY AS LIZ!
It took more than makeup and jewels to turn Lindsay Lohan into Elizabeth Taylor for Lifetime’s upcoming biopic Liz & Dick. Says executive producer Larry Thompson: ‘The essence comes from deep inside’
“Everybody on-set just stopped and stared when she arrived in that makeup,” says Thompson of Lohan, 26, as a 52-year-old Taylor after Richard Burton’s death in 1984.
LOOK OF LOVE
“Their cinematic chemistry really is extraordinary,” says Thompson of Lohan’s rapport with actor Grant Bowler (re-creating Burton and Taylor’s 1964 wedding portrait). “It’s what makes the movie.”
QUEEN FOR A DAY
While filming the scenes from 1963’s Cleopatra, Lohan “was treated like the Queen of the Nile-and I think she felt that way! There was a lot of fuss made about it.”
The fireworks between Katy Perry and John Mayer fizzled out almost as quickly as they began. After less than a month of dating, Perry, 27, and Mayer, 34, have gone their separate ways in a split pals believe was initiated by Mayer but was ultimately mutual. “They weren’t serious, but she was starting to fall for him,” a Perry pal tells Scoop. Says another source: “People made it out to be far more than it was.” Within days of calling it quits, Mayer was spotted chatting up women at West Hollywood’s Soho House (he got his hair cut short the next day), while Perry hit Disneyland. Perry’s attitude, adds the pal, is “it was fun while it lasted. But she said ‘whatever’ too much-so I know it wasn’t really ‘whatever.’ I think she’s disappointed it didn’t last a little longer.”
Emma Watson, 22, and Will Adamowicz, who met at Oxford and were first spotted kissing at Coachella in April, took their romance public again, strolling arm-in-arm through London on Aug. 26.
Rose Leslie and Kit Harington, both 25, may be more than just costars. According to reports, the Game of Thrones actors recently enjoyed a dinner date at London’s Rossopomodoro restaurant.
Mary-Kate Olsen, 26, and French boyfriend Olivier Sarkozy, 43, show no signs of slowing down. On Aug. 20 the pair were spotted checking out the $6.25 million Manhattan townhouse he just bought.
January Jones, 34, appears to be jumping back into the dating pool after becoming a mom to Xander last September: She was seen holding hands with her Sweetwater director Noah Miller.
DIANA’S LAST DAYS
Where Are They Now?
FROM THE BUTLER WHO SOLD HER SECRETS TO THE PAPARAZZI WILLIAM AND HARRY BLAMED FOR THEIR MOTHER’S DEATH, SCOOP CATCHES UP WITH KEY PLAYERS FROM THOSE DARK, DRAMATIC TIMES 15 YEARS AGO
The anguished brother who vowed in his searing eulogy that Diana’s “beauty, both internal and external, will never be extinguished from our minds,” continues to honor his big sister’s memory. The author, 48, named his seventh child (with third wife Karen), Lady Charlotte Diana Spencer, born July 30, after her, saying,”I wanted her commemorated.”
After publishing his 2000 account of survivor’s guilt, Rees-Jones, 44-the crash’s sole seat-belt wearer, who still suffers facial numbness-changed his name. Intensely private, he now has a home in the English town of Oswestry with wife Ann, whom he wed in 2003, and their daughter and was recently a security specialist in Iraq.
Acquitted of stealing $7.5 million worth of her belongings in ’02, Diana’s “rock” earned her sons’ wrath for detailing her trysts in two tell-alls. Burrell, 54, later found infamy as a reality star on WE tv’s makeover competition American Princess in 2007. He now runs a flower shop in Farndon, England.
MOHAMED AL FAYED
Convinced Diana and her boyfriend, his son Dodi, were murdered, the billionaire, 83, funded a 2011 documentary, Unlawful Killing. The Paris Ritz owner “waits with great expectation” for justice, a close source says.
