On Sept. 4 the couple marked Beyonce’s 30th birthday during a vacation in Venice, Italy, relaxing aboard a luxury yacht with close friend Gwyneth Paltrow (in town for the Venice Film Festival-see page 88) and dining at one of the city’s nicest restaurants. Says former bandmate Kelly Rowland: “Beyonce’s happy and Jay is happy. That’s all that counts.”

The daughters of Formula 1 racing mogul Bernie Ecclestone have a penchant for pricey cars too. When bag designer Petra, 22, arrived in L.A. Sept. 1 following her wedding in Italy to businessman James Stunt last month, she found a white Rolls-Royce Ghost (base price: $245,000) waiting outside her hotel, a wedding gift from her mother, former Armani model Slavica. In August, London-based TV host Tamara, 27, was given a Ferrari 599 GTO (base price: $450,000), by her stockbroker boyfriend Omar Khyami.
Kate Middleton‘s wedding gown went on display at Buckingham Palace July 23 and has already drawn more than 350,000 visitors.
