Brooke’s Hospitalized, Charlie Rushes to Her Bedside
After Brooke Mueller, 32, was rushed to an L.A. hospital Jan. 19 with a life-threatening infection, Charlie Sheen, 44, was a regular bedside visitor—but their reunion was short-lived. Mueller was released on Jan. 25. According to a source, the mom of 10-month-old twins—who, like Sheen, has battled substance abuse—plans to get psychological therapy and R&R. “Her doctors told her she has to reduce stress,” the insider says, adding that Mueller’s mother, Moira Fiore, is researching spas where Mueller can recover post-discharge. (While Mueller’s away, another source says, the twins will stay with Sheen.) Sheen, who’s been allowed to interact with Mueller at the hospital despite a protective order issued against him following the couple’s Dec. 25 spat, “has been great,” Fiore says. Still, says the source, “Moira wants Brooke to get away from Charlie, away from L.A.—away from the stresses.”
Jersey Shore’s Snooki
I’M DIETING UNTIL I’M A SIZE 1
Last week she revealed a high school eating disorder. Now Nicole “Snooki” Polizzi, 22, says she wants to shrink her 4’9″ frame. “I’m a size 3, but I’d like to be a size 1,” she told Scoop at Connecticut’s Shrine at MGM Foxwoods. “I eat salads all the time. Then I go running.” But she has no plans to cut out alcohol. “If you want to go out and drink, just drink something light,” she says. “Be a normal person.”
JOE JONAS SPOTTED NEAR HILARY DUFF‘S HOUSE … ARE THEY DATING?
When photographers snapped Joe Jonas, 20, next to the Toluca Lake, Calif., home of Hilary Duff, 22, on Jan. 20 (left), the blogosphere began buzzing about a romance between the pair. So what gives? “My parents are next-door neighbors with her,” Jonas told Ryan Seacrest Jan. 25. “As I was leaving my parents’ house—their garages are right next to each other—they took a picture.”

HER NEW BEAU’S TROUBLED PAST
They’ve just started dating, but Rihanna, 21, and L.A. Dodger Matt Kemp, 25, are already weathering a storm. A temporary restraining order filed in 2008 by Kemp’s ex, actress Felisha Terrell, 33, has resurfaced (nearly a year after Rihanna was battered by her ex Chris Brown), in which she claims she endured “constant verbal abuse and threats.” Rihanna‘s rep had no comment; Kemp’s lawyer Richard A. Stilz says Kemp “denied all the claims and allegations.” The case didn’t progress, and Terrell “wants to move on,” says her former lawyer David Diamond. Kemp’s agent Dave Stewart adds, “This happened over a year ago. It’s a nonissue for him.”

In the midst of fighting prostate cancer, the actor shocks his wife by seeking to end their marriage
Dennis Hopper, 73, has struggled with drug and alcohol addiction, battled lawsuits and had more than his share of feuds. But the much-mellowed actor’s latest fight is, sadly, close to home. Battling advanced prostate cancer, Hopper filed for divorce Jan. 14 from Victoria Duffy, 42, his wife of nearly 14 years. “It’s heartbreaking that it’s come to this,” says a source.
Hopper sources contend that he and Duffy—who have a daughter, Galen, 6—have been estranged for years and that Duffy has indiscriminately spent Hopper’s money. Her camp denies this and maintains that Duffy is surprised by the divorce filing. Duffy’s side is also questioning whether an ailing Hopper has the mental capacity to deal with the complexities of a divorce. (In her divorce response, Duffy asked for sole custody of Galen; Hopper requested joint custody.) These sources also wonder if his oldest daughter, Marin, 47, is influencing his decisions. Not so, says a Hopper source: “The divorce was his idea.” William Thomas, the son of Hopper’s first wife, Brooke Hayward, says he visited the actor last week: “He was just as I have always known him: witty, warm and interested in everything, despite being weak from chemotherapy.” Hopper has stayed in high spirits by surrounding himself with friends, including Hayward, artist-director Julian Schnabel and actress Lauren Hutton. “He’s going to face this challenge with the same grace that he’s faced his life,” his Apocalypse Now costar Harrison Ford says. “I wish him the best.”
