After what seemed like a successful visit to an Arizona treatment facility in June for anxiety and depression, it has become clear Heather Locklear is still struggling. She was arrested Sept. 27 on suspicion of DUI near Santa Barbara, Calif. A California Highway Patrol spokesman tells Scoop a concerned witness called 911 to say the actress was “driving erratically” in a parking lot, then exited her BMW on a nearby road and “stumbled into the traffic lane.”

Alcohol was ruled out as a factor, but investigators believe Locklear was under the influence of prescription medication. (Toxicology tests aren’t due for several weeks.) In June sources told PEOPLE that Locklear had been battling—and taking medication for—anxiety and depression since her 2006 split from Richie Sambora (with whom she has daughter Ava, 11).

On Sept. 24 RYAN PHILLIPPE, 34, and ABBIE CORNISH, 26, hit the Stork in Hollywood, where a source says the couple were “kissing throughout the night.” … After dating for six months, NATALIE PORTMAN, 27, and her folk-rocker beau DEVENDRA BANHART, 27, split…. On Sept. 27 WINONA RYDER, 36, and KEANU REEVES, 44, hung out at Bar 1200 in West Hollywood. “The later it got, the more affectionate they seemed, and the more fun they had,” a source says of the pair, who have been frequent costars. At 1:30 a.m. the couple, who are longtime friends, left together, hopping into Reeves’ Porsche. Reps did not comment.

Drew Barrymore

After splitting from Justin Long, Drew Barrymore is getting back in the game. She smooched four guys on Sept. 22 and Gossip Girl star Ed Westwick, 22, the next night. The actress, 33, told Harper’s Bazaar in its November issue she’s “had a couple of fun, frolicky relationships, but … it’s been about learning who I am.”

Sharon Stone

A judge’s Sept. 12 denial of Sharon Stone’s request to change her custody agreement with ex Phil Bronstein—which would have allowed Roan, their 8-year-old son, to live with her in L.A. rather than with Bronstein in San Francisco—has prompted the actress, 50, to find a place up north with sons Laird, 3, and Quinn, 2, to be near Roan. A friend says, “She wants to keep the boys together.”

DJ AM & Travis Barker

Recently released from the hospital, a visibly injured DJ AM (Adam Goldstein), 35, attended the Sept. 29 memorial service in L.A. for “Lil’ Chris,” Travis Barker’s longtime pal and one of the four killed in their Sept. 19 plane crash. At the service, a friend said, “Chris’s [2-year-old] boy [Sebastian] ran around … with his mohawk. So cute and sad.” Barker, 32, just discharged from the Augusta, Ga., burn center, was unable to attend. The musician, who suffered second- and third-degree burns, is traveling to an L.A. hospital via private bus. “He will never fly again,” says a source.

Janet and Jermaine

Jermaine Dupri turned 36 with two bashes. On Sept. 23 the party started at N.Y.C.’s Tenjune with Dupri’s longtime girlfriend Janet Jackson by his side. “We’re about to get drunk!” Dupri told PEOPLE before spending the night dancing. “Janet made sure the spotlight was on her man at all times,” says a guest. Two days later, the music producer was in Chicago (to attend Jackson’s concert) celebrating at the Underground nightclub, where he took to the deejay booth.

Ellen DeGeneres and Portia de Rossi hosted a Sept. 28 gala to benefit YES! on Prop 2, a California initiative for more humane treatment of farm animals. Tobey Maguire (he donated thousands at the auction) and guests Amber Tamblyn and Amy Smart enjoyed performances by Moby and Carole King.

  • 9/27, Las Vegas: The Hills starlet Lauren “Lo” Bosworth celebrated her 22nd birthday at Tao nightclub partying with BFFLauren Conrad and Bosworth’s ex Christian Wenger, whom Lo smooched that night. PS: Lo wore a dress designed by pal and costar Whitney Port.
  • 9/27, L.A.:Naomi Watts (inset) held her small 40th-b-day party in the backyard of her home.
  • 9/27, L.A.: Scrubs’ Zach Braff, Donald Faison, Judy Reyes and Sarah Chalke partied at their series finale wrap party. After a gag reel, Chalke and Braff toasted with Cîroc, “Here’s to eight years!”

The Desperate Housewives hottie dishes on playing a gay teen, Eva’s mommy potential—and why he won’t date an actress

Will your character Andrew be creating more trouble for his mother, Bree, this season?

He’ll be working for Bree [Marcia Cross], who has this Martha Stewart-like empire now. He’s her right-hand man. He’s much more behaved now—at least with his mother.

  • Eva Longoria Parker, who’s been denying pregnancy rumors, now has kids on the show. Offscreen, would she be a good mom?
  • I’m sure she’d be great. She’s a fun, spunky, lively little one!

Did you have any qualms playing a gay character?

I mean, I’m straight. If I say I’m uncomfortable with it, then I’m homophobic. If I say I’m okay with it, then I’m gay. It’s an honor. I didn’t know it would be so groundbreaking.

How do you unwind after a day of shooting?

I paint. I’m teaching myself the piano. And I cook. I made pasta sauce with meatballs the other day—the best pasta sauce I’ve ever had.

Are you dating anyone?

I have a girlfriend I’ve been with for five years. She’s not an actress, so I get to talk about normal stuff with her, and we’re not fighting for the spotlight!
