Michelle Williams

After months of quiet outings with just her baby daughter, Michelle Williams, wearing vintage Chanel, made a graceful return to the spotlight on May 22 at the Cannes debut of her film Wendy and Lucy. It was her first red-carpet appearance since Heath Ledger’s death four months ago. Later, at a party for her other movie, Synecdoche, New York, Williams, 27, enjoyed a fireside chat with a champagne-sipping Brad Pitt. Asked about her reemergence at Cannes, she said, “It was [something] to be able to look back on and say, ‘That was a cool thing I did when I was 27.'” Williams is now shooting Shutter Island with Martin Scorsese and Leonardo DiCaprio. But how is she really coping? “It’s a hard thing to have to live with, but she’s doing as well as can be expected,” a source says. “She’s doing okay. She’s living her life.”

Lindsay & Samantha

Lindsay Lohan, 21, has a new roommate: Deejay Samantha Ronson, 30, has moved into Lohan’s Los Angeles digs, a source tells Scoop. The move comes as the longtime BFFs publicly held hands and touched each other affectionately while at a party on Diddy’s yacht in Cannes May 22. “Lindsay has never been happier,” says the source. “They are ‘together,’ but this is not about sexuality. She has found someone who is always there for her. Lindsay feels safe around Samantha.” And Lindsay’s mom, Dina, told Scoop last month that Ronson is “a great girl. Smart, talented and a true friend to my daughter. We love her.”

John Mayer

Jennifer Aniston, 39, and John Mayer, 30, may be on different continents—he’s working in Asia and she’s in a Philadelphia suburb filming Marley & Me—but Mayer can’t stop gushing about his leading lady. “He’s telling everyone that he’s ‘in love with a very special woman,'” says a friend. “He sounds love-struck.” Meanwhile, the couple’s mutual friend Sheryl Crow says, contrary to reports, she didn’t play Cupid. “I had nothing to do with it,” she told Scoop while in Washington, D.C., where she testified before a U.S. House Committee in support of the Breast Cancer and Environmental Research Act. “I’m always happy when people I love are happy.”

“Josh and Fergie should have tons and tons [of kids]! He’s very good-looking and she’s gorgeous”

Kirsten Dunst

Kirsten Dunst, 26, is slamming reports that claim she checked into Utah’s Cirque Lodge treatment center earlier this year for substance issues. “I didn’t go to Cirque Lodge for alcohol abuse or drug abuse—I went there for depression,” she told E! Online. “I was struggling, and I had the opportunity to go somewhere and take care of myself…. My friends and family thought it was a good idea, too.” A source close to the actress, currently shooting the 2009 film All Good Things in N.Y.C., concurs. “She does drink but that was never the root of her issues,” says the pal. In fact, an eyewitness spotted a happy-go-lucky, alcohol-free Dunst at N.Y.C.’s Bar On A during the early hours of May 25: “She was dancing up a storm, but she wasn’t drinking.”

Brad & Angelina’s

It’s nesting time for Angelina Jolie, and what better place to do that than a 35-room château on the French Riviera? Jolie, 33, in her third trimester with twins, and partner Brad Pitt, 44, have rented the famed Château Miraval, an 800-acre estate and vineyard with plenty of space for Maddox, 6, Pax, 4, Zahara, 3, and Shiloh, 2. The local Nice-Matin newspaper claims Miraval, valued at a reported $70 million, features olive groves, a moat, 20 fountains—and even a forest!

Ashlee & Pete’s

Newlyweds Ashlee Simpson-Wentz, 23, and Pete Wentz, 29, kicked off their five-day honeymoon on May 18—one day after their Alice in Wonderland-inspired wedding—and headed to the luxe Parrot Cay Resort and Spa in the Turks and Caicos. “They were happy just being alone,” a source says, adding they mostly hung out in their oceanfront villa. Now back in L.A., Simpson-Wentz is gearing up for her summer tour, which starts June 9 in Chicago, and Wentz is working on his second book, Rainy Day Kids, out in October. And prepping for parenthood? Sources have confirmed that Simpson-Wentz is pregnant, but she would only say, “We’d love a big family one day.”

Jessica & Tony

Despite all those breakup rumors, Jessica Simpson, 27, and Tony Romo, 28, spent Memorial Day weekend restaurant-hopping in Dallas and displaying plenty of affection for one another along the way. On May 24, the couple had dinner at N9NE Steakhouse. “It looked like they were on a date,” said a source of the hand-holding couple. The following afternoon the couple visited Sneaky Pete’s sports bar for brunch; afterward Simpson sat on Romo’s lap outside, according to a source. They were spotted the next day at Primo’s Bar & Grille, where Jessica lovingly gazed at her beau—while chowing down on enchiladas.

Ed Hardy designer Christian Audigier, whose vintage tattoo-inspired clothes are a celeb staple, threw himself a blowout 50th-birthday bash May 23 at the Petersen Automotive Museum in L.A. Britney Spears, Fergie, Snoop Dogg and Pamela Anderson mingled under a tent as dancers were lowered from the ceiling. But it was the night’s unannounced guest—Michael Jackson—who turned the crowd wild. The King of Pop dubbed the birthday boy the “King of Fashion.” Spears, who just had two all-day visits with her sons and is busy in the recording studio, bobbed her head to the music and told PEOPLE she was doing “good!”

Ashton Kutcher and coinvestors Wilmer Valderrama and Chris Masterson toasted the five-year anniversary of their Italian restaurant Dolce in L.A. May 20 with 150 of their friends. The gang ended the night blowing out candles on a massive cake, but not before they all broke out in song to Journey’s “Don’t Stop Believin’.”

Dancing with the Stars winner Mark Ballas and fellow show pro Derek Hough celebrated their 22nd and 23rd birthdays respectively at the Bellagio’s The Bank nightclub in Las Vegas May 23. Hough’s partner onscreen and off, Shannon Elizabeth, was there, and the night was capped off with a shared birthday cake featuring a large shimmering ball like the trophy on the ABC show.

Mike Myers

The host of the MTV Movie Awards and star of The Love Guru on kissing Madonna and singing with Justin

You previously hosted the MTV Movie Awards in 1997. Are you giddy about your return?

I’m already excited! I’ve learned to have way more fun doing these shows. Last time … it was nerve-racking. Now I know exactly what it is. It’s just fun now.

You’ve won a handful of awards yourself from the show in past years. Where do you keep them?

On a shelf with my soccer trophies, a portrait of the Queen, a picture of Winston Churchill and a picture of me and my brother from when we were kids. A little shelf of miracles.

Speaking of high notes in your career, who was your best onscreen kiss?

Madonna, when I did Wayne’s World. It was terrifying! It was like kissing the Eiffel Tower in terms of how famous she is. And my best offscreen kiss was my mom on my 10th birthday—it’s still my best birthday ever because she made me baked Alaska.

In The Love Guru (out June 20), your costar is Justin Timberlake. Do you have any aspirations to branch out of acting and do a duet together?

Oh, I’d love to. If I ever get that call, I’ll definitely be there. I think he’s 1 percent water and 99 percent talent. I’ve not met a girl who isn’t insanely in love with him.

So … Austin Powers 4?

I don’t know. It has yet to be written.
