Ted (Cheers) Danson, child psychologist, gets so upset helping his cop buddy Richard (Heartburn) Masur nail a child molester that he retires. But Danson gives up the lazy life to play detective again and help Masur solve the murders of a bunch of rich men. The direction by Emmy-winning War is (Copacabana) Hussein gives you some neatly shocking scenes. The script, based on the novel by Jonathan Kellerman, gives you some nicely different lines: “Nirvana through inertia doesn’t make it.” The acting by Danson and Masur is all-pro. Bough is a nice, tight, tense little murder mystery, and Danson himself deserves some credit for that: He makes his debut as a producer with this flick.
