Leo Sayer

In 1974 Sayer played the clown at rock concerts. Singing The Show Must Go On in full makeup, he looked and acted more like a reject from Ringling Bros, than the artist he was. Since shedding the mask—literally and artistically—Sayer has established himself with hits like You Make Me Feel Like Dancing, When I Need You and How Much Love. Seven of the 10 songs on this LP were written by Sayer himself, and although none is exceptional, they provide the perfect backdrop for his light and bouncy vocal style. Aided by producer Richard Perry, songs like Leave Well Enough Alone and the title cut come out smooth and energetic. Like his last album, the phenomenally successful Endless Flight, Thunder will almost certainly be the source of several hit singles.
