The 45-year-old Brit, best known for his dazzling stand-up routines, thinks the shifty yet charismatic Wayne Malloy is a dream part, “a role one would sell several grandmothers for,” he says. “I’ve waited for it since I was 7, when I decided I wanted to be an actor.” While he juggles accents in his comedy, locking into an American voice for long stretches is tricky. Costar Minnie Driver “just launches into hers—she’s very relaxed with it.” For him, “it’s like tapping your head and rubbing your stomach at the same time.”
