You’d think that a TV movie starring Farrah Fawcett as the madam of a brothel would be sexy. Wrong. Farrah’s fine and so is co-star Beau (Hotel New Hampshire) Bridges, but their Sting stinks. The beginning is so confusing you need a score-card to figure it out. The FBI wants to trap a murderous mobster, Harold (Dad on Rhoda) Gould. So an agent, “baby-faced” Beau, buys a brothel, hoping that Gould will extort him for protection. Meanwhile, a nerdy accountant finds out that the government just bought a whorehouse (hey, it’s more fun than MX missiles) and tries to expose the operation. But Beau, with Farrah’s help, finally stings Gould with a simple-minded plot twist. Then the two stars fall in love. “You’re very pretty,” Beau says. “I bet you say that to all your hookers,” Farrah says as she trades in her G-string for a G-man. This is one red light you should run through.
