Gladys Knight and the Pips

While Knight and the Pips continue trying to cut it in solo careers—so far with indifferent success—when they perform together the sparks still fly. This album is a prime example of their perfectly synced rhythms and tight harmonies. They also have unusual range, from the title cut, a lazy ballad (from the Henry Winkler movie), to the fast-paced It’s a Better Than Good Time. After 27 years together, why mess with a good thing?
