Scott Baio

Remember how the record companies used to take a young TV star—Tab Hunter, say—and create an instant singer by the use of echo chambers, drown-out background choruses and loud arrangements? They’re still doing it. This album includes the old Dave Clark Five classic Can’t You See that She’s Mine and some attractive techno-pop arrangements by John D’Andrea and Michael Lloyd, but their professionalism only accentuates the painful fact that Baio is an amateur singer. Suffice it to say this LP does not represent a happy day for music lovers.
