Dennis Miller, the Snidley Whiplash of Saturday Night Live, hosts this standard sampler of six stand-ups. Some host. He opens the show with an uproarious routine that blows the junior jokesters off the stage, sniping at, among others, Zsa Zsa (“Why are we even interested in this Rose Bowl float with a SAG card?”).

The best of the six comics who follow, Drake Sather, is a virtual clone of Miller. He’s taller and even thinner but with the same hair and withering wit. Well, if SNL should ever lose Miller due to, say, a nasty bout of compassion, now they know where to look for a fill-in.
