Picks and Pans Review: Supercross: the Movie

Steve Howey, Mike Vogel, Sophia Bush

If The Dukes of Hazzard whetted your appetite for films featuring nothing but slow-motion aerial shots of soaring vehicles, then you’re in luck. Otherwise there’s little reason to watch bike racing brothers KC (Howey) and Trip (Vogel)—why aren’t these guys ever named Edgar or Stanley?—follow their motorcycle dreams, which apparently involve jumping big dirt hills in Las Vegas instead of California. Saddled with a script that gives the bikes more character than the actors, WB vets Howey (Reba), Vogel (Grounded for Life) and One Tree Hill’s Bush (as KC’s girlfriend) sputter along between monotonous races. The most fun comes from watching street-CRED-CHALLENGED SINGER AARON CARTER STRUGGLE TO PLAY A BADASS BIKER IN A CAMEO. (PG-13)
