The classic version is 1951’s A Christmas Carol, with Alastair Sim (above) snorting, “Bah, humbug!” I love 1992’s The Muppet Christmas Carol, with Michael Caine as Scrooge, Kermit as Bob Cratchit and Miss Piggy as his bossy missus. Ditto 1962’s Mr. Magoo’s Christmas Carol (below, a TV special now on DVD). The worst? 1988’s Scrooged, a woeful Bill Murray comedy.
