The Judds

To say that Naomi and Wynonna are just cruising along is not to say they’re coasting. They branch out on this, their seventh studio album, with a Caribbean-flavored version of the Mark Knopfler song “Water of Love” (Knopfler himself shows up to play guitar) and one co-written by Carl Perkins, “Let Me Tell You About Love” (with Perkins on guitar). They also use some more predictable sources, such as Paul Kennerley, for the hard-chugging “One Man Woman” and Felice and Boudleaux Bryant for the regretful “Sleepless Nights.” Wynonna sings the lead vocals, Mom and daughter harmonize a little once in a while, and they generally seem to be enjoying themselves. Most of their listeners will probably have the same experience. (RCA)
