With her kids in school and her husband on the night shift, Gloria (Kirstie Alley) grows restless with life in the housing projects of postwar New York. Will she have an affair with the beatnik writer down the hall or get a job at Gimbels? This TV movie may remind you of those true-life romance comic books of the ’50s, but director Robert Allan Acker-man gives it a nice period charm, and Alley, as a Brooklyn Anna Magnani, generates enough heat to light up Radiant City all by herself.
