After the departure of Steven Page, Ed Robertson is the Ladies’ sole frontman on mellow tunes like the Chicago-esque “Summertime.” 
There’s nothing here that you haven’t heard from other ’80s-inspired bands like the Killers. Still, it’s hard to resist such throwback tracks as the aptly titled “1983.” 
Those who know Wolf only as leader of the J. Geils Band (“Centerfold”) will be surprised at the nocturnal gems on this earthy mix of soul, blues, folk and country.
