Edward Norton, Colin Farrell, Noah Emmerich, Jon Voight
The tight-knit Tierney family is NYPD blue through and through. Dad Francis (Voight) is a top official at police headquarters; his two sons, Francis Jr. (Emmerich) and Ray (Norton), are cops, and so is his son-in-law Jimmy Egan (Farrell). Family ties and duty clash in this overwrought police drama when Ray’s investigation into a shooting begins to uncover wrongdoing by at least one member of the Tierney clan.
Pride and Glory sets its characters and conflicts up efficiently, but the plot eventually grows ever more nonsensical and violent. The actors never embarrass themselves (well, maybe Voight overdoes his New Yawk accent), but neither does anyone emerge blanketed in pride or glory.
