To remind us that not all documentaries are so profound, there’s this meandering mush about two poor women in India. Kamala is the slightly more interesting of the two. She is a strong union organizer but, because of a bad marriage, is almost powerless at home. Her story, better told, could have been compelling. (Raji is a vegetable seller.)

This is part of the P.O.V. series, but try to guess what producer-director Michael Camerini’s point of view was. The documentary is indeed a sari proposition.
