DRAMA

Fall’s most impressively pedigreed new series, this deluxe ensemble drama about life on a Saturday Night Live-ish show comes from the esteemed cranium of West Wing creator Aaron Sorkin. It also marks the return of Matthew Perry, still able to shoot a line in a wobbly arc as if it were Silly String. And the physical production is gorgeous. But the show feels weighed down by its own clout. Imagine Dick Cheney trying out for Last Comic Standing.
