TALKS TO

Your current single, “Automatic,” is an ode to simpler times. Do you have problems unplugging?

I do have trouble putting down [my iPhone], but I’m getting better about it! I think it’s important to take a minute and breathe: no TV, no computer, no iPhone, no iPad. You have so many gadgets today, and everyone is overstimulated all the time.

You collaborate with Carrie Underwood and Little Big Town on your upcoming album, Platinum. Anybody else you’re dying to work with?

Kelly Clarkson is a friend of mine. And I’m a huge Beyoncé fan, but I would never dare tread that water because I’d be too nervous!

You just launched your own shoe line, Miranda by Miranda Lambert, at DSW. Who do you think rocks the best shoes in the business?

I have to give a shoutout to Hillary Scott from Lady Antebellum. She was strutting around in, like, 6-in. heels when she was pregnant! I borrowed a pair of hers one time, wore them on the red carpet, and they killed my feet. I was like, “Girl, how do you do this?”
