Laura Kirk, Nat DeWolf, Griffin Dunne

An aspiring actress whose only significant credit is a sexy cereal commercial, Lisa Picard (Kirk) has been singled out by a documentarian (Dunne) as his subject for a film about living on the cusp of fame. He, follows her around Manhattan with his camera, tagging along to auditions and visits with her best bud Tate (DeWolf), another actor.

This amusing mockumentary, written by Kirk and DeWolf and directed by Dunne, seeks to examine fame’s meaning. Traipsing through familiar territory, Lisa is slight but often wise, and there’s a swell scene where Lisa has a fawning encounter with a polite but understandably distant Sandra Bullock. (Not rated)
