Picks and Pans Review: Les Ballets Trockadero De Monte Carlo
You don’t have to know or even like ballet to fall in love with “the Trocks.” The all-male company dons toe shoes and tulle and lumberingly spoofs such classics as Giselle, led by their own “primo ballerino,” Olga Tchikaboumskaya, and featuring Ida Neversayneva, among other lovelies. They plan to prance into Houston Feb. 25 with the world premiere of Cheopsiana, a work that drags in an Egyptian motif. Then on to Akron and Detroit as part of an 18-city national tour. It’s all tutu much.
