Linda (Matlock) Purl has the perfect life: a lofty apartment, a passionate pilot of a boyfriend, a rewarding job teaching and “bonding with” troubled kids. Just her luck a scuzzy mass murderer has to bend her fender and she has to identify him in court. The slime tries to scare her by doing slimy things like hanging her cat. It works. Her boyfriend buys her a gun. But Yaphet Kotto as a cop disapproves and gives her lectures from cliché hell: “The wheels of justice may be slow, but they turn.” Yeah, well, the wheels of justice look speedy compared with this show. Defense takes two hours to deliver a good message badly: Guns are scary.
