Here, on the other hand, we have a tale about a subhuman apparently intended for subliterates. Turned out on the cheap by a Canadian company, it’s about a crazed 7’3″ giant. When the young survivors of a cabin cruiser accident show up on his island on a northern lake, he has them over for dinner. They are the menu. While Janet Julian, the leading lady, is comely and a competent actress, this is a movie that gloats on its own lack of taste, dwelling on maggot-filled skeletons and gruesome, foolish violence. As directed by Paul Lynch, this movie gives exploitation a bad name. (R)
