Everybody at Cordell Hull High School is a musical fool. Even the cleaning lady is a fabulous gospel singer. That’s all to the good. It makes the production numbers, particularly the dancing, vibrant. But the dramatic stretches are stale, and the tone is too often leeringly sexist.
The primary plot movers among the adults are Nancy Valen and Will Lyman, both former soap actors. Among the kids, Cheryl Pollak, Harold Pruett and Mark Ballou stand out. In a few weeks this series will move to its regularly scheduled time on Sundays at 7.
