>The networks aren’t ringing out the ’80s on a high note—the choice of original seasonal specials is decidedly thin. Bob Hope, who would mount an NBC special on the occasion of the mail being late, has his Christmas Special from Waikoloa, Hawaii with the Judds and Barbara Eden on Dec. 16. NBC also has Christmas in Washington on Dec. 18 with Diahann Carroll, Vic Damone and James Galway. That same night, CBS has a collector’s item for your VCR: The I Love Lucy Christmas Show, a rare episode of the seminal Lucille Ball-Desi Arnaz sitcom that hasn’t been seen in its entirety since it first aired on Dec. 24, 1956. The next week, you can welcome in the New Year with Natalie Cole on CBS, or with Dick Clark, the latter-day Guy Lombardo, over on ABC.
