WAS THERE A LOT OF DRINKING ON THIS SET?
I had my fair share of moonshine, but it tasted like rubbing alcohol. I had one sip and then I was done. This is going to be crazy to say, but I’ve never had a hangover.
YOU’RE NOT MISSING MUCH.
I know! I’ll meet my friends for Sunday brunch—like the girls from Sex and the City, we meet for breakfast to talk about boys—and they’ll be hungover. It seems miserable!
SPEAKING OF BOYS: HOW WAS KISSING TOM HARDY?
We became buddies and played Scrabble on-set, so that made it easier for me, but I’m shy. When I read a script and there’s kissing, I always feel like I got punched in the stomach. Acting is a bit embarrassing: nudity, kissing, dancing.
WHAT DO YOU DO WHEN YOU’RE NOT WORKING?
I love to cook! My favorite is poached pears with sweet-potato ice cream. I’m doing a play [The Heiress, opening this fall on Broadway], and my dream is to go to cooking school during the day and do the show at night.
DO YOU EVER SLEEP?
I love to keep busy. If I’ve got days off, I’m like, “Great! I’ll work on my French, I can take a cooking class.” That, to me, is heaven.
