Remember That’s Entertainment!? Well, this is comedy—a two-hour reprise of the movies’ funniest scenes from the beginning of sound up to the 1950s. Walter Matthau makes a rare TV appearance, introducing the work of the Marx Brothers, W.C. Fields, Laurel and Hardy, Mae West, Bob Hope, Bing Crosby and others too humorous to mention. There are also clips from the films of Ernst Lubitsch and Preston Sturges, two of Hollywood’s outstanding comedy directors. Not to be missed: Abbott and Costello’s classic “Who’s on first?” routine.
