Despite increasingly frequent lapses, Saturday Night Live has nurtured some of the freshest talent around. Now, hoping to sow where others have tilled, ABC introduces a weekly live late show with unknown comedy performers, rock music and a rotating host (Kenny Loggins is the first). The network says the L.A.-based Fridays will have a presumably more mellow “West Coast attitude.”
