CBS (9 p.m. ET)
In her first straight dramatic appearance since Run a Crooked Mile, a 1969 TV movie, Mary Tyler Moore stars in a made-for-TVer based on NBC News correspondent Betty Rollin’s powerful memoir about her own mastectomy. Anthony Perkins (in a return to TV after 10 years) plays her husband; Richard Crenna is the other man in her life and Jennifer Warren her confidante. They all give fine performances, which helps redeem a groaner-ridden script (“Losing a breast is like losing someone you love” goes one of the lines).
