Oh, joy, we’ve even started importing cop shows. But this British version of that American TV staple is actually okay. It’s even classy. Michael (Emerald Point, NAS) Brandon stars as a New York cop who uncovers police corruption and gets transferred to England, where he teams up with a simply smashing cop played by Glynis Barber. The first case they crack involves the theft of 40 tons of caviar. What’d I tell you? Class. Sure, this cop show has the usual elements: fists, chases, bullets and an exasperated police captain (or, in this case, guv’nuh) who rolls his eyes a lot. But Barber and Brandon give the show those extra elements that make it entertaining: a little chemistry and charisma.
