>5 FALL ALBUMS I CAN’T WAIT FOR!

1

LADY GAGA

Artpop

NOV. 11

Although I thought she needed to take a break, I missed Gaga when she was sidelined by hip surgery. So I’m jonesing to hear how Mother Monster will be reborn after Born This Way, her 2011 hit album. While the first single “Applause” hasn’t exactly been a smash by her standards, it signals a welcome return to the dance-floor stompers of her Grammy-winning debut, 2008’s The Fame. Bonus: Artpop will come with its very own app!

2

EMINEM

The Marshall Mathers LP 2

NOV. 5

Going the sequel route à la Jay Z and Lil Wayne, the rapper born Marshall Mathers looks to recapture the magic of his blockbuster album 13 years later.

3

JUSTIN TIMBERLAKE

The 20/20 Experience—2 of 2

SEPT. 30

The first part of 20/20 is already my favorite album of 2013, and the second installment is supposed to be dancier (see first single “Take Back the Night”).

4

ARCADE FIRE

Reflektor

OCT. 29

AF’s last one, 2010’s The Suburbs, won the Album of the Year Grammy, so the pressure is on this time. The title-track first single is a moody groove with David Bowie (!) singing backup.

5

MILEY CYRUS

Bangerz

OCT. 8

All twerking aside, I liked “We Can’t Stop,” and after the attention-grabbing nudity of the “Wrecking Ball” video, I’m curious to see what she’ll do next. But I’m not sure how banging it’ll be.
