Do people really devote large chunks of their adult lives to thinking about key events from high school? In this situation comedy—the first television series produced by DreamWorks, the new studio headed by Steven Spielberg, Jeffrey Katzenberg and David Geffen—Timothy Busfield and his longtime buddies (Kevin Nealon, Paul McCrane and Ed Marinaro) still shoot hoops and lounge around each other’s living rooms talking about the all-important high school basketball game that they lost way back when. The male-bonding humor is surprisingly, refreshingly dry, and the show is impeccably cast. But arrested development isn’t the best of themes for a sitcom.
