Estimated figures for the long Memorial Day weekend—the first round in the race for the summer box office crown—show Paul Hogan’s Aussie way ahead of raging Rambo. “Croc” II grabbed $26.5 million.

2. RAMBO III An $18.5 million take seems wimpy for Sly’s killing machine; Rambo II took in $25.5 million over the same period in 1985.

3. WILLOW The dwarf hero took a beating from the two macho men and earned just $7.1 million.

4. COLORS Sean Penn playing cop locked up $2.5 million, but the 6-week-old movie is fading.

5. BEETLEJUICE Michael Keaton’s comic exorcist raised $2.4 million in the movie’s eighth week of release. Any guess as to how many of these hot five will still be around by Labor Day?
