Tom Scott

At 27, Scott’s funky tenor sax has graced the works of George Harrison, Joni Mitchell and Carole King, not to mention the music he has scored for such fast-action television series as Dan August and Baretta. Once he parted the now-famous L.A. Express, Scott came east musically. Backed by New York studio men, these songs are easy listening, laced with electric piano and lush strings. But for a man who claims to have been so strongly influenced by such fierce musicians as Coltrane and Miles Davis, his playing lacks the intensity of his mentors.
