DRAMA

The lightweight ’70s fantasy gets retooled for the age of Heroes and X-Men. It’s now a dark, grim parable about mutated identity. Fun! Jaime Sommers (Michelle Ryan) is all but destroyed in a car accident, reassembled in a high-tech lab, then relaunched as a crusader with robotic strength, speed and skill. It’s as if the Terminator hosted a makeover show instead of Tim Gunn. The premiere never moves as fast as Jaime, but British newcomer Ryan has gorgeous pale skin (and an occasional startling resemblance to Monica Lewinsky—something about the jaw). Super good looks, anyway.

LIFE

10 P.M. | NBC

An L.A. detective, after spending years behind bars for a crime he didn’t commit, is exonerated. Rejoining the force, he keeps himself steady and sane with zen wisdom he acquired to get him through his unjust incarceration. Copy that, grasshopper. Damian Lewis (with Sarah Shahi) stars.

BIG SHOTS

10 P.M. | ABC

This testosterone-fueled drama stars Dylan McDermott (above), Michael Vartan, Christopher Titus and Joshua Malina as high-powered buddies who don’t always hold the upper hand when it comes to the women in their lives.

FRIDAY, SEPT. 28

MOONLIGHT

9 P.M. | CBS

Alex O’Loughlin plays a Los Angeles crime investigator who’s also been a vampire for the past 60 years. That’s right—there are career opportunities, good ones, for the undead. He’s reunited with an Internet reporter (Sophia Myles), whom he rescued long ago when she was a young girl.
