With all the human warmth of Dragnet, this movie tells the true story of how a detective and a D.A.—Yaphet Kotto and James (Against All Odds) Woods—nabbed the men who killed two New York cops in 1971. The murderers allegedly were members of the so-called Black Liberation Army. The only mystery of the movie is why it was made now, dredging up old racial venoms and doing so without drama or the slightest depth of characterization.
