Though he’s not the star, the late Cory Monteith is solid in his last film role as a street kid hounded by a troubled cop (David Morse). The movie is a slog with a sadly predictable twist. But it shows Monteith had promise.
Guy Pearce and Felicity Jones give nuanced turns as a married musician and a live-in exchange student who fall in love. The subject is hardly fresh, but Breathe In reveals it with wonderful subtlety, never shying away from the pain involved.
